Skinnys in Ballycotton

A good friend of mine whom we call ‘Doc’ was coming over to visit me in Ireland. I had known Doc since college. We lived together for three years. He’s one of the best friends a guy could ask for. He was recently ordained a priest with the Paulist Fathers. He concelebrated at my wedding earlier in the year. It was great that Doc (Father Mike) was coming back to Cork so soon and that we could celebrate his ordination.

Ballycotton is a coastal village in East Cork.  It has beautiful views overlooking the Ballycotton Bay. It’s a great place to take someone whose over on holidays. Doc and I decided to do the cliff walk and even though it was a foggy morning the views that poked through and the air that you breathed in was so refreshing. On the way back into the village we wanted to get something to eat and since we were in a area known for it’s fish we wanted to get some fish and chips. There was a place I had seen the few times I was in Ballycotton called Skinnys and it looked like a cool spot. I never realized there was a back area on it with a view. We said yes to it…
